tag:wo22ab.blog.co.uk,2009-11-09:/MokoFeed2009-11-09T00:11:29+01:00tag:wo22ab.blog.co.uk,2008-06-10:/2008/06/10/introduction-4297453/wo22a2008-06-10T14:42:56+02:002008-06-10T14:42:56+02:00 <p><strong>Why Hello! <img src="/img/smilies/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" class="middle" border="0"></strong></p> <p>Welcome to my blog, thought id create one and keep track of the work that i get up to during the summer with the British Red Cross (Notts), as i currently do some volunteer work with them. </p> <p><strong>What do i do i hear you ask? </strong></p> <p>Im on the youth and Schools team, and work alongside my line manager, teaching young people first aid- how to save a life mainly (recovery position etc).<br> It may seem boring, but its actually really good, and weve had some good laughs at some of the school, epecially one what sent us thank you letters with comments like "I liked it when warren pretended to be sort of dead" and "i found it interesting when we were lying on the floor" hahahaha!!!!</p> <p>Been working since May 2008, after uni finished, loving every minute of it, due to the fact ive been offered TWO, once in a lifetime oppurtunities (sorry if i confused you)<br> <strong><br> 1. Royal Garden party at Buckingham palace with Prince Charles and Camilla! (July 9th)</strong>- its the red cross's 100th birthday this year, and to celebrate, prince charles is hosting a royal garden party. How cool is that? not as cool as my next one...</p> <p><strong>2. 2 Weeks at British Virgin Islands!</strong>- Have been successful with my application, and im off! (july 18th-28th) - basically i have to go over there, and learn about how their red cross works, and what they do. I'll tell them about our services here, and theyll do the same. Theres also a number of community projects aswell, but i only have rough details. I will know more after this saturday, as i am going to london for my briefing, so ill let you know!<br> Gonna do a video diary for this, so ill upload clips to here via youtube or something, so you can see what its like, and what i got up to. </p> <p>Also on this blog i will almost keep a diary of where i went for the schools first aid project, and how it went, what happened etc etc (this is my normal work, the teaching first aid in schools etc etc).</p> <p>Ciao for now! </p> <p> <small> <a href="http://wo22ab.blog.co.uk/2008/06/10/introduction-4297453/#comments">Comments</a> </small> </p>
